At the FIFA U-20 World Cup in La Plata on Saturday (today), Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will try to break their dreadful record against Brazil.
In the Flying Eagles’ previous five encounters with the five-time champs, they were winless each time.
The West Africans have only once drew and four times lost.
The Nigerian team just needs one point from this match to take first place in Group D after already qualifying for the Round of 16.
Ladan Bosso, the team’s head coach, recognized that the Brazilians had won previous matches against his team, but he claimed that his team was prepared to break the losing streak.
“Yes, we recognize that Brazil has always been a challenging opponent for our squad at this level.
Bosso said during a news conference that while “there is always a first time,” “We have lost a number of matches to them over the years.”
“We’re riding a wave of strong confidence, and while we don’t underrate them, we also don’t fear them,” the statement reads.
At 7 o’clock Nigerian time, the game scheduled for the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata will begin.
