Early Thursday morning, a fire broke out at the E54 Bridge located in Terminal One of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, leading to the discovery of smoke rising from the area.

Following the incident, power to the airport’s E Wing was promptly shut down by electrical experts in response to the smoke emanating from the E54 Bridge.

A statement released by Mrs. Obiageli Orah Director, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Federal Airports Authority (FAAN), confirmed that the fire was successfully contained by 6:41 a.m. As a precautionary measure, all flight operations at Terminal 1 of MMA have been redirected to the D Wing until further notice.
