Flavour, a musician from Nigeria, has clarified that he doesn’t identify himself as an Afrobeats performer and instead prioritizes producing “African music.”

The Afrobeats Podcast recently featured Flavour, who stated that his contributions showcase a wider range of African sounds.

“I do not experience negative emotions when I am unrecognized for the worldwide expansion of African music since what the media is referring to is Afrobeats.

As an artiste who does not specialize in Afrobeats, this does not affect me,” he stated.

Flavour pointed out that Fally Ipupa and Diamond Platinumz, who are promoting African music on a global scale, aren’t typically considered Afrobeats artists.
