Five female students from the Federal University, Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State were kidnapped by gunmen Wednesday morning who were likely bandits.
According to information obtained by OBASANJO NEWS24, the students were kidnapped at around 2:30 in the morning from their home on Tsaskiya road, which is located behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial International School.
This was confirmed to OBASANJO NEWS24 by numerous sources, including university employees and students.
One of them claimed that a group of armed bandits targeted the students’ apartment on Tsaskiya Road and forcibly abducted them.
The kidnapping was also confirmed by ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu of the Katsina State Police.
He said that certain people had been detained in connection with the investigation.
He added that an inquiry was still ongoing to learn more about the incident’s circumstances and to ensure the abducted kids’ safe return.
