The award-winning Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name, Davido, secretly wed his longtime girlfriend, Chioma Rowland, only five days after their son passed away, according to information that has come to light.

Recall that on November 1st, news of the death of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who drowned in a swimming pool at his father’s home in Banana Island, Lagos State, sent the internet into a frenzy.

According to reports, Chioma’s relatives prevented the Adeleke family from burying Ifeanyi because they claimed that since Chioma and Davido were not officially married, Ifeanyi was their son. a custom that is followed in some areas of Igbo Land.

The Adelekes, a member of Davido’s family, were welcomed by Chioma’s kinsmen from Ezeala Odu, Owerre Nkwoji, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, at Chioma’s family home in Lekki, Lagos, where the traditional wedding took place on November 4, 2022.

On January 2, 2023, the last marriage rites were supposed to be performed in Chioma’s hometown in Imo State.
