First Lady, Shettima’s Wife Pay Courtesy Visit to Babangida, Abdulsalami in Niger (PHOTOS)
Nigeria’s First Lady and the wife of Vice President Shettima visited former heads of state, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Niger State. See photos from the visit.
Recently, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Hajia Nana Shettima, the wife of Vice President Kashim Shettima, visited former Military President General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar in Niger State.
At the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna, Governor Umaru Bago, accompanied by his wife Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago and other state officials, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished visitors.
General Babangida governed Nigeria between 1985 and 1993. After General Sani Abacha’s death in 1998, General Abdulsalami Abubakar assumed leadership. He is recognized for easing Nigeria’s transition back to democracy by transferring power to Olusegun Obasanjo in May 1999.
The visit highlights the Tinubu administration’s acknowledgement of Nigeria’s former leaders and their impact on the nation’s history.
