The president’s wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, stated on Wednesday that the current government is prepared to assist the nation’s Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in order to generate jobs for Nigerians.

According to her, this kind of assistance significantly improves the general wellbeing of people and families while acting as a lifeline for those who are having financial difficulties.

In the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa, the First Lady officially opened the renamed and expanded Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), formerly known as the Renewed Hope Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Programme, which is run by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Given that businesses are the backbone of the economy, the First Lady believes that MSMEs may have a profoundly positive impact on the lives of those who are most vulnerable in society.

According to her, it is essential for promoting inclusive growth and giving real advantages to those who most need them, particularly women and people with disabilities.

In support of her claims, Tinubu’s spouse stated that small companies give people with low incomes a means of achieving economic empowerment. With the right tools and a nurturing atmosphere, these people can become independent business owners.

“In this context, the rebranding of the three components of this programme is significant,” the speaker stated. As a result, Marketmoni (now renamed Iyaloja or Nne Ahia or Agajin Yan Kasuwa), Farmermoni (now rebranded Owoagbe or Olilanya Ndi Oru Ugbo or Tallafin Manoma), and Tradermoni (now rebranded Owo Oja or Olilanya Ndi Nagbambo or Tallafin Sana’a).

“These rebranding efforts bring home a better comprehension and real implications of the plan in our mother tongues, particularly for women farmers and dealers.

“As I was taught, the Rebranded and Expanded Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) is one of the strategic components of the Federal Government’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).

“This programme is anticipated to concentrate, among other things, on providing small-scale entrepreneurs with interest-free, collateral-free loans, thereby promoting financial inclusion and allowing those with little resources to obtain critically needed money for entrepreneurial endeavors.”
