Prior to the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 78), the First Lady of the country, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (CON), has arrived in New York.
Prof. Tijjani Bande, the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, welcomed her as she arrived.
In addition to other important gatherings, Oluremi will speak at the Nigeria Economic Trade Summit, the Africa First Ladies Peace Mission side meeting on Gender Actions for Peace, and the DUSUSU Foundation.
The First Lady met with Alex Kefas, the Nigerian ambassador to Portugal, during a brief layover at the Madeira International Airport in Portugal while en route to New York, according to information obtained by Obasanjonews24.
President Tinubu will deliver his inaugural National Statement on September 19, the opening day of the High-Level General Debate of the 78th UNGA Session.
The President will take part in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (UN 2023 Summit on SDGs) with other world leaders before starting the General Debate.
The UNGA’s subject is “Rebuilding trust and Reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress, and sustainability for all.”
