The first female bishop to lead the Diocese of Jos was raised in the Methodist Church of Nigeria’s Kaduna Archdiocese.
Most Reverend Joseph Nnonah, who is the Archbishop of Kaduna, made Right Reverend Nkechi Nwosu the Bishop of Jos at the Christ Methodist Cathedral Church in Jos, which is in North Central Nigeria.

People from the Diocese of Jos gathered to observe the enthronement service as Bishop Nwosu was solemnly installed as the new leader of the Jos diocese by the Archbishop of Kaduna.
Nowsu asserted in her statements that God created all people equally.She urged all Nigerians to constantly seek God’s face, particularly as the national elections get underway on February 25.
The new bishop urged everyone to “get out there and agree with God, listen to the spirit of God, and do what God says we should do.”
Do it so that God can use us and anybody else He places in that position to make Nigeria once again a source of pride for all of Africa and the world.
After the conference told the Diocese of Jos to give the bishop the Enthronement Act and the Diocese of Jos agreed, the bishop officially started her spiritual work as the Bishop of Jos diocese, which she sees as a privilege in spreading the gospel without bias.
The installation of Nwosu as the country’s first female Methodist bishop is undoubtedly a call to Christendom that spreading the gospel is a task that transcends gender issues.
