Firefighters from Kwara retrieve a woman’s body from the Asa River

The Kwara State fire service officers retrieved the body of an unnamed woman on Thursday from the Asa River near Emir’s Road in Ilorin, the state capital.

The woman, who has not been named, was found dead at around 18:44. She was roughly 46 years old.

According to Hassan Adekunle, spokesman for the state fire service, the state fire service was notified and called to the scene of the event by a police officer, SP Dolapo of the ‘B’ Division Police Station in Ilorin.

The firefighters recovered the woman’s body from the river once they arrived, showing off their remarkable abilities and knowledge.

“Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, was there at the scene personally, underscoring the gravity and importance attributed to the sad occurrence, which further enhanced the team’s impressive display of expertise.

“After the successful recovery operation, the corpse was promptly handed over to the team led by Inspector Ruben Olaitan from ‘A’ Division Police station Ilorin,” he claimed.

For the quick action and cooperation with the Kwara state fire service, the fire service conveyed its gratitude to SP Dolapo of the “B” Division Police Station.

According to the statement, the collaborative effort serves as a reminder of the value of interagency cooperation in successfully managing catastrophes.

The report added that the state fire service team deserves praise for its unwavering dedication and commitment to its duties, and that its outstanding professionalism and prompt response in the face of difficulty reflected the fire service’s core values and aided in the safety and security of the neighborhood.

Olumuyiwa expressed grief at the incident and suggested that everyone be extra watchful in their areas to avoid repeat incidents.
