Nigerian artist, Fireboy DML, recently discussed the rationale behind his decision to collaborate with fellow artist, Rema, rather than engage in a feud as anticipated by fans.
In an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro, Fireboy emphasized that both he and Rema are considered the top Afrobeats artists of their generation, which led them to join forces instead of succumbing to the pressure of creating drama for the public.
Fireboy highlighted that their decision to collaborate was based on their mutual understanding that they are beyond the need for unnecessary controversies and that they are focused on creating meaningful music together.

The duo’s decision to work together came after facing constant comparisons on social media, which eventually subsided when Fireboy featured Rema on a track called ‘Compromise’ from his album ‘Playboy’.
This collaboration not only showcased their camaraderie but also hinted at the possibility of more joint projects in the future, with Fireboy mentioning that they have plans for five additional collaborations.
