Fire in Anambra market results in destruction of valuable items
Two stores at the Afor Nnobi Market near the Nnobi Roundabout in the Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra were completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday morning.
Millions of Naira’s worth of products, including apparel and home items, were reportedly damaged by the fire.
Onitsha newsmen were informed on Wednesday about the occurrence by the Chief Fire Officer of Anambra Fire Service.
According to Chiketa, there was a fire at Afor Market, and at 7:52 a.m., the Anambra Fire Service received a distress call.

“The Nnewi Fire Station sent out its firefighters and fire engine right away, arrived on the scene, and put out the fire.
About two establishments were impacted by the fire, however no lives were lost.
“Power surge in one of the affected shops was suspected to be the cause of the fire.”
He claims that although fire kills, it may be avoided.
The public needed to be aware, he continued, because the time of call always dictated the time of response.
