On Friday night, Kaura Market in Abuja – a bustling hub frequented by many – was engulfed by an unexpected fire. This market sits adjacent to the Prince and Princess Estate.

Around 11 p.m., a fire broke out and destroyed about 40 shops before it could be controlled.

At present, the reason behind the fire is still unknown.

At the time of this report, attempts to contact important officials at the Federal Capital Territory Administration proved fruitless.

Traders reportedly voiced their frustration over the FCT Fire Service’s delayed response, which they believed contributed to the spread of fire and subsequent significant damages.
