Fintiri is confident of winning the Adamawa election, saying “I Am Not Afraid”
The governor declared that all of the 69 voting places in the state have uploaded their results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal, or IReV.
The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, is certain that the technology used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) won’t jeopardize the state’s governorship election.
Fintiri, who briefed journalists in Yola on Sunday, declared that he has no fears and expressed confidence in winning the hotly contested election.
According to the results of 10 councils that have been declared in the supplementary elections so far, the governor who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Adamawa State is in the lead. He has been engaged in combat with Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) major adversary.
Fintiri stated at the briefing that the INEC Result Viewing Portal, IReV, now contains all of the results from the state’s 69 voting locations.
“It won’t be compromised thanks to INEC’s technology. IReV contains all 69 units. The results have been uploaded since yesterday, so everyone can see them; everyone has seen them, according to the governor.
“I have no fear of anything, including the possibility of the outcome being tampered with or otherwise affected.
We continue to trust in the sanctity and integrity of the collated results whenever they are requested.
Buhari did not participate in this.
Ahmed was proclaimed the victor in the middle of the collation earlier on Sunday, according to the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Adamawa.
Some PDP supporters were compelled to protest the scenario in the collation center hall by questioning why the REC instead of the returning officer made the statement.
The election body overturned the REC’s announcement as a result, and the results collation was put on hold. Both officers were also invited to the commission’s Abuja headquarters.
Speaking to reporters, the governor cleared President Muhammadu Buhari of responsibility for the situation that is now taking place in the North-Eastern State.
He claimed that Buhari was the victim of a legitimate election process that led to the removal of Goodluck Jonathan as president.
Fintiri asserts that the President is not involved in the drama taking place in Adamawa State.
“I believe the President won’t back down from this. We naturally ask him to speak when we do. We urge him to make a choice since he was elected in this country according to the rules, defeating an incumbent in the process. Therefore, I think he won’t participate in this, ” he continued.
