Beginning in January of next year, Adamawa State Youth Corp members will receive an extra N10,000 per month in compensation.

During the 2023 sworn-in ceremony of the 1,340 corps personnel assigned to the state as part of the Batch C Stream 2 deployment, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri made the announcement on Tuesday.

According to the governor, the action is a part of his administration’s generosity to lessen the impact of the elimination of fuel subsidies.

According to Obasanjo News24, every youth corps member currently receives a N20,000 service-long bonus from the state government after completing the service year, in addition to the N10,000 monthly offer that will be added to what the youth corps members receive from the federal government through the programme.

Governor Fintiri also contributed 50 bags of rice, 10 bulls, and 10 jerricans of cooking oil to the Batch C Stream Two swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday in order to help with the orientation camp’s feeding needs for the recently deployed corps members.

The governor urged them to view their deployment and orientation camp as a chance to find their abilities. “My dear compatriots, congratulations on your successful graduation from your respective institutions of learning which qualified you for mobilisation into this noble scheme,” the governor said.

“Seize this wonderful chance with both hands,” he advised.

Speaking earlier, State Commissioner of Youths and Sports and State Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board Wali Yakubu urged the corps members to make informed decisions about the different skill sets the programme offers, to engage completely in all training sessions, and to ultimately aim to create jobs.
