Rivers United’s coach, Finidi George, points to poor finishing as the main reason for the team’s defeat to Enyimba in their recent match.

Rivers United’s technical adviser, Finidi George, mentioned that his team missed opportunities in their close defeat to Enyimba.

The Pride of Rivers were defeated 1-0 by their hosts in Aba on Saturday.

Imot Obot secured the victory for Enyimba with a remarkable free kick during the first half.

Nonetheless, Finidi praised his players for their overall performance.

“Prior to their free-kick, we missed a one-on-one opportunity that could have altered the game’s outcome,” Finidi remarked in a post-match interview.

After that moment, they were awarded a free kick—something debatable, considering we weren’t given ours.

In the second half, we made some adjustments and really stepped up our game. Despite losing the match, I’m quite pleased with how we played; it’s been a while since we’ve performed like this. I must commend the players for their effort.
