All banks must operate physically in the banking rooms and load their ATMs throughout the weekends, according to CBN instructions.
As part of a concerted effort to facilitate the circulation of banknotes of various denominations, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced that banknotes have been evacuated from its vaults to commercial banks around the nation.
All commercial banks must henceforth be open on Saturdays and Sundays, according to CBN directives.

According to a press release from Dr. Isa AbdulMumin, acting director of the CBN’s corporate communications department, commercial banks have received a sizable sum of money in a variety of currencies for distribution to their respective clients.
He said that the CBN had instructed all banks to fill their ATMs and carry out real-world business in the banking halls over the weekend.
In addition, the announcement says that Mr. Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, would personally oversee teams that will check the banks’ compliance across the nation.
He thus pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience since the current crisis would soon be resolved once new banknotes entered the market.
