The All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed certainty that his group would win the Supreme Court case contesting President Bola Tinubu’s election.

After the seven-member panel, presided over by Justice Inyang Okoro, reserved judgement on the petitions submitted by Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Ganduje made a statement to reporters.

Although Ganduje noted the expertise of each counsel in the case, he emphasised that the APC and Tinubu’s legal team would ultimately prevail.

“I believe the legal processes (between Atiku and Obi against INEC, Tinubu, and the APC) are extremely difficult because all of the candidates who wanted to raise specific objections did so expertly.

“At the same time, those who are defending did extremely well, and although the verdict won’t be finalised for some time, I believe we won. The APC will triumph, according to Ganduje.

Ganduje also responded to the Supreme Court’s decision to reject the Allied Peoples Movement’s (APM) challenge, which sought to invalidate Tinubu’s victory on the basis that Vice President Kashim Shettima had been nominated twice.

The national leader of the APC expressed his satisfaction that Shettima’s candidature difficulties have finally been settled by the supreme court.

Democracy is being practised, I suppose. The judiciary has carried out its duty since the crucial question is: What would the APM gain if its requests are granted?
Truthfully, nothing exists.

“They were persuaded to drop the claim, and it was rejected.

So the Vice President’s case has been dropped, and we are pleased about that, he declared.

Obi and Atiku are requesting that the Supreme Court invalidate Tinubu’s victory, among other things, due to alleged violations of the Electoral Act and corrupt practises.

This final appeal to the Supreme Court would put an end to all litigation surrounding the 2023 Presidential election after the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja rejected these arguments.
