The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) is dedicated to making investments in the synchronisation of the nation’s data.
On Thursday, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister, revealed this in a Twitter posted on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Center’s official X account.
The age of multiple ID registrations will soon come to an end, according to Tunji-Ojo, who stated that his ministry is dedicated to the program’s success.
He claimed that as President Ahmed Bola Tinubu works to strengthen Nigerians’ identification and security architecture, NIMC has been given the responsibility of harmonising the nation’s database.
There is no need for us to simultaneously hold a BVN number, a Voter’s Card number, a NIN number, and a passport number, according to Tunji-Ojo. To guarantee that we harmonise all of them and eliminate the duplicates, we must collaborate with @nimc_ng.
“When we unify our data, there will be information sharing among authorities, allowing our citizens’ data to be retrieved when they need it for a passport or BVN using their NIN.
“This will not only spare us from stress, expense, and energy, but it will also aid in the process optimisation.”
