FG plans to commence the export of skilled welders and technicians in the near future

The federal government has expressed its intention to commence the exportation of skilled workers, particularly welders and technicians, to other African countries and the rest of the world.

According to Minister of State for Steel Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, when skills acquisition is effectively coordinated, it becomes possible to export these skilled professionals, thereby generating foreign exchange for the nation.

During a meeting with the management of the welding federation committee in Abuja, Ahmadu emphasized the government’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring Nigerians that they can expect to witness tangible results within the next one to two years.

He further highlighted the potential for exporting not only welders but also skilled technicians, which would contribute to the nation’s forex earnings.

The CEO of Welding Federation, Ayo Ogtan, also emphasized the importance of integration and diversification in order to create job opportunities in various specialized fields.
