“Our LEEP Digital Nomads initiative aims to cultivate the skills and talents of our substantial youth population, empowering them to tap into global job markets and multiply their income tenfold. We will accomplish this by improving digital literacy and expanding opportunities for remote work globally,” Onyejeocha stated.
The minister further disclosed that the LEEP Vocational and Entrepreneurship Programme (VEP) will concentrate on offering training in industrial and cottage skills, aiming to equip individuals with the necessary tools for both employment and entrepreneurship.
“We will enhance and broaden our National Electronic Labour Exchange (NELEX) platform to speed up automated recruitment processes for all types of employment across the country,” she stated.
Onyejeocha also revealed that through the LEEP Job Fairs, the government will work alongside private sector employers to organize yearly events aimed at linking job seekers with employers and partners throughout Nigeria.
She additionally highlighted the LEEP Center for Learning Spaces initiative, which seeks to enhance and modernize both the Ministry’s current facilities and those of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in order to meet the increasing demand for apprenticeships, production hubs, and business incubators.
