FG designates May 1 as Workers’ Day, public holiday

Workers Day is being celebrated this year on May 1, which has been designated a public holiday.

Rauf Aregbesola, the interior minister, made this announcement on Friday.

Nigerians celebrated Eid el-Fitr just a week ago.

Aregbesola praised Nigerian workers for their dedication, perseverance, and sacrifice in a statement released on Friday and signed by Shuaib Belgore, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.

He continued, “Workers’ efforts are largely responsible for the greatness of the nation and the respect Nigeria now commands in the community of nations.”

We must be dedicated and committed to the work we perform because it is essential to nation-building, he said. “There is dignity in labor.
