FG Declares Tuesday and Wednesday Holidays for Eid El-Fitr Celebrations
In an official statement released on Sunday, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced that the Federal Government has designated Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The minister extended his congratulations to all Muslim faithful for successfully observing the fasting period during the holy month of Ramadan.
He emphasized the importance of embodying and practicing virtues such as kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
Tunji-Ojo also urged Nigerians to embrace unity as a means to enhance peace and harmony within the country.
He concluded by extending his well wishes to all Muslim faithful, hoping for a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration filled with the peace, blessings, and favor of Allah for both individuals and Nigeria as a whole.
