According to Tommy Okon, National President of the Association of Senior Civil personnel of Nigeria, no fewer than 5,000 federal civil servants may not receive their December salary if there are differences in their dates of birth and initial employment.

Conversely, Okon said that the union was collaborating with the Federation’s Head of Civil Service and that the affected persons’ names had been forwarded to their Directors of Human Resources for verification.

After completing their online and in-person verification processes, 2,772 employees have been successfully added back to the Federal Government’s payroll, according to the President of ASCSN.

He urged the federal government to move quickly to complete measures that will guarantee that the civil servants undergoing various exercises to be reintegrated into the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System do not miss their December salary.

Okon asked ASCSN members who are impacted by the reintegration process to be patient, assuring them that the union is doing all legal steps to guarantee a speedy resolution of the problems.

“The physical verification exercise of the ‘17,000’ core civil servants who were delisted from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System was concluded in October 2023 and those involved were in high spirit, waiting for their monthly salary which was stopped since September 2023 to be restored,” the union leader told reporters on Tuesday in Abuja.

Only those who had previously finished their verification process but had been inadvertently delisted have had their pay reinstated as of today; the dates of birth and initial appointments of 5,000 federal personnel remain inconsistent.

There were no problems, thus 2,772 in total have been validated and sent to IPPIS for payment. 5,000 employees whose names don’t match up should have their DHR contacted for verification.

Six teams are putting up a lot of effort to make sure the exercise is finished on schedule. Public employees should make it a habit to check the HOS website frequently for updates. Those impacted will not be able to get their income for the month of November as we have certified that the salary for November 2023 is completed.

Nonetheless, the HOSF is working to guarantee that individuals who have been approved will receive their salaries for December 2023, including any arrears from September.

“We request that the Federal Government move quickly to ensure that the December salary is not delayed, through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.”
