In a recent development, the Federal Government has announced that the payment of salaries to civil servants will be delayed for the month of January.
The National Mathematical Center in Abuja released a memo, signed by its acting bursar, Pius Ukwah, stating that the delay is due to the ongoing process of finalizing the 2024 Appropriation on the GIFMIS platform by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).
As a result, the Personnel Warrant for January 2024 has not yet been released. It is important to note that this delay will affect not only the center but also other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The memo requests the staff to remain patient as they await a positive resolution from the OAGF.
