A 25-year-old man has been accused of killing his father in Lagos by stabbing him. Explore the details of this tragic situation.

The Lagos State Police have detained 25-year-old Chibunnma Chimelie for allegedly fatally stabbing his 68-year-old father.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police spokesperson, the tragic incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 10:00 p.m. in Lagos’s Isolo area.

Hundeyin revealed that the incident came to public attention after the suspect’s brother lodged a complaint at the Aswani Police Divisional Station.

“The complainant reported that a neighbor called to inform him of a serious altercation occurring between his father and the suspect, who also resided in the same house,” stated Hundeyin.

When he arrived at the scene, the complainant discovered his father unresponsive and lying in a pool of blood.

The police quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect. Investigators discovered a knife stained with blood near the body, which has been collected as evidence.

“A team of investigators reached the site, recorded details of the scene, and moved the victim to General Hospital in Isolo. There, doctors later confirmed that he had died,” Hundeyin stated.

The victim’s body has been transported to the General Hospital Mortuary, and reports indicate that the suspect has confessed to the crime. Authorities are actively investigating to gain a full understanding of the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
