According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr. Oshodi, the stepbrother of the 11-year-old kid who was allegedly buried alive in Apamsede in Kogi, is on the run.
According to information obtained by NAN, the stepbrother’s purported tools of choice—a shovel and a cutlass—were also gone.
The 11-year-old was found alive on Wednesday after his stepbrother had buried him in a bush in the Silo hamlet in Zango Daji, the state’s Adavi Local Government Area.
The 11-year-old child was accused of stealing N1,000 from his stepmother, who told her son to punish him for the theft.
The 17-year-old allegedly buried his stepbrother alive after taking his stepbrother into the woods with him to punish the 11-year-old.
Oshodi travelled, and the police were waiting for him to return so they could hear his version of the tale, according to SP Williams Ovye-Aya, the police public relations officer for Kogi Command.
It was discovered that the victim’s father had fled the scene of the event and was at home when NAN visited the Apamsede community on Saturday.
The father of the 11-year-old kid, the stepmother, and the stepson were called to the palace of the traditional ruler on the day of the occurrence to discuss what caused such an act, according to Malam Garba Ahmed, the district head of Apamsede.
“Mr. Oshodi, the father of the 11-year-old boy was present at the palace when both the stepson and stepmother gave reasons for their action,” the district Ahmed said. “When they came to the chief’s palace, Mr. Oshodi, the father of the 11-year-old boy was present at the palace.”
“The father of the boy probably fled after we insisted on calling the police to handle the situation.
“The deceitful conduct had been committed, according to the stepmother and her son Goodness.
However, the traditional council of our community has ruled against allowing such individuals to live on our territory.
We’ll exile the stepmother and her son from this country once they’ve faced the full force of the law.
But first, he added, “we will make sure that the family makes a sacrifice to purify the land.
According to NAN, the police squad that arrived at the boy’s stepmother’s Apamsede home on Saturday morning found that the shovel and cutlass reportedly used to bury the adolescent were missing.
The police crew noticed significant alterations in the atmosphere from what they had seen on Friday despite the residence being under lock and key.
“Someone must have broken into your home. The house was locked when we arrived here yesterday, and as we can see today, the interior window curtain was not drawn.
“Some of the items we encountered outside this building yesterday are no longer present. There must have been a visitor here.
The majority of the items in the property, according to the police who stated they had to break the lock and key to enter the house because the woman claimed she didn’t have a key, had been removed.
The shovel and cutlass you indicated were in the house are nowhere to be found. This is because there is nothing present. One of the cops remarked, “The jewels must have been packed here by someone.(NAN)
