In the Mokola Isale Tapa neighbourhood of Abeokuta, Ogun state, a father named Ganiyu Aikore is reported to have tried to terminate the pregnancy of his 17-year-old daughter, whose identity has been suppressed.
After learning that he was pregnant with his daughter, Aikore allegedly went to a nearby pharmacy to get what were thought to be abortion drugs, according to information obtained on Wednesday from a police source.

The woman told some community members that she thought the medications her father had given her were meant to stop the 23-week pregnancy. These individuals then informed the community chairman of the incident.
The girl was then brought to the Adatan Police Division by the chairman to make allegations against her father.
Omolola Odutola, the police command’s spokesperson, confirmed the occurrence and stated that preliminary findings indicated Aikore had been having sexual relations with his daughter for years.
“He’s been taken into custody. For a very long time, he was accused of having a sexual relationship with his teenage daughter. There are 23 weeks left in the pregnancy. We are looking into this more,” she stated on Wednesday in a WhatsApp message.
