In a car accident that happened on Friday in the Arinkinkin neighbourhood of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, three powerful traditional leaders perished.
The three Obas from Oriire Local Government Area who passed away were Alayetoro of Ayetoro, Olodogbo of Odogbo, and Onibowula of Bowula.
Reportedly, the Obas were en route to attend the funeral of the mother of another traditional leader, Oba Oyebunmi Ajayi of Oolo, when the incident happened, resulting in their car colliding with an approaching truck.
It was known that Olodogbo had died instantly, but it was not known when the other two monarchs had also perished.
Newsmen were informed that their remains were placed in the hospital’s mortuary by a source at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, who verified the occurrence to Ogbomoso Insight Online.
The fourth injured person was reportedly receiving medical attention at the hospital, “but he doesn’t look like an Oba,” the insider claimed.
