Fatal accident claims three lives on Lagos-Ibadan expressway
In a collision involving two vehicles at the Conoil filling station axis on the Lagos-Ibadan motorway on Saturday, three people were declared dead and seven more injured.
In a statement released on Sunday in Abeokuta, Mrs. Florence Okpe, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Public Education Officer in Ogun, verified the event.

According to Okpe, the incident happened at 9:23 p.m. and included a trailer identified JJN 32 YX and a Toyota Hiace bus with registration numbers RLG 846 XA.
She said that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding, which is what caused the collision.
The FRSC representative went on to say that there were 18 persons involved in the accident—16 men and 2 women.
According to her, three people perished and seven people were hurt in the collision.
According to Okpe, the dead were placed in the hospital’s mortuary while the injured victims were brought to Idera Hospital in Sagamu for medical care.
She claims that because of the weather, drivers have been advised to take into account this period of heavy vehicle activity and low visibility by the Sector Commander, Anthony Uga.
As she discouraged drivers against speeding, Uga remarked, “The best speed limit is common sense.”
