16 animals were stolen from the Takazza settlement, and farm items were destroyed, according to the Jigawa State Police.
Emmanuel Ekot Effiom, the commissioner of police for Jigwa State, confirmed the event to reporters on Tuesday in his office.
He said that what happened over the weekend was an attack by two villages in the Guri Local Government Area to get back at each other.
Two people were hurt, 16 animals were stolen, and farm items were also destroyed, according to the commissioner.
He said that when police patrols were sent to the area to calm things down, they caught two people and found 11 calves that had been stolen.
He said, “Two suspects who proceeded to the Maigatari Market to sell pieces of the cows were caught by the police.”
According to Effiom, the police are trying to make sure that the remaining suspects are arrested and that the stolen livestock that was taken from the community is found.
In addition, he gave the people of Takazza the assurance that things are back to normal now that security officers have been sent to the impacted districts.
