Fani-Kayode: Tinubu accomplished in a few days what the Buhari administration could not in years
Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation, asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had accomplished in under 100 days what the Muhammadu Buhari administration had failed to do for many years.
The United Arab Emirates, UAE, and Nigeria engaged in a diplomatic dispute while former President Buhari was in office, which led to the imposition of a visa restriction on Nigerians and the suspension of flights to the west African country.
Since October 2022, everything have stayed the same.
But as OBASANJO NEWS24 had previously reported, the presidency declared on Monday that Tinubu and the leader of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had reached a historic agreement in Abu Dhabi, which had led to the immediate lifting of the visa requirement for visitors from Nigeria.
And Fani-Kayode, a former PDP chieftain who is currently an APC member, highlighted that the new administration has accomplished what the previous administration could not in many years in only a few short days.
“Over the past several days, our President has restored Nigeria to her rightful place at the forefront of world affairs.
“After a fantastic performance at the G20 summit in India, where he correctly reminded world leaders that they cannot do without Nigeria, he travelled to the UAE and not only saw to it that the ban on Nigerians getting visas was lifted but also saw to it that the issue of the trapped Emirati funds at Central Bank and the issue of flight routes and air travel between our two countries were resolved. These accomplishments happened within a short period of time.
These are goals that the previous administration was unable to reach after years of drawn-out, frequently contentious negotiations.
“Under his leadership, Nigeria is undeniably on the rise once more, and I am so proud of our President.
He has not only given us back our faith and optimism, but he has also shown the rest of the world that Great Nigeria, the Giant of Africa, is once more alive. God be praised.
