A notorious criminal, known as Dangote, who had been causing fear in parts of Katsina and Zamfara states, was reportedly killed by a rival gang led by Kachalla Dankarami, also known as Goska, during a gun battle on a Sunday morning.
The clash occurred in Dunmurun, Zamfara State, where both groups, heavily armed, had been terrorizing communities in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State for some time.
The fatal confrontation stemmed from a disagreement over stolen sheep, resulting in the death of one of Dankarami’s associates by Dangote’s gang, leading to a series of retaliatory attacks and counterattacks between the two groups.
The ongoing rivalry between Dangote and Dankarami, primarily over territorial control along the Katsina-Zamfara border, has resulted in the loss of several gang members’ lives in previous clashes.
