Ondo State’s Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is from the Ilaje towns in Ilaje Local Government Area. On Tuesday, the residents of those communities raised concerns about an alleged plot to remove him from office.
The deputy governor’s relatives claim that attempts have been made to make up false accusations against Aiyedatiwa in order to lay the groundwork for his impeachment.
The group demanded that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu issue a warning to those behind the conspiracy, claiming that recent events in the state are part of a coordinated effort to depose Aiyedatiwa. This could sour his connection with the people of Ilaje.
The group encouraged the state’s governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to warn the conspirators after claiming that recent occurrences in the state were “part of a coordinated effort to remove Aiyedatiwa from office.”
The organization claimed in a letter to the governor that the plot was an attempt to circumvent the constitution’s requirement that Aiyedatiwa function as governor in the absence of the governor.
Ola Judah Ajidibo, the organization’s deputy executive administrator, called the allegations of domestic abuse against the deputy governor “false” and said he intended to use them as grounds for impeachment against Aiyedatiwa.
The group asked the people of Ondo State to be watchful and thwart any attempts to thwart the democratic process while demanding for an urgent inquiry into the incident and action from the appropriate authorities to stop the Deputy Governor’s impeachment.
The organization expressed worry that the charge was intended to damage Aiyedatiwa’s reputation and divert him from his duties because the development appeared to have the potential to lead to substantial political upheaval in the state in the days to come.
“We have shown that the Deputy Governor’s claims of domestic violence against his beloved wife, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, are fabrications from the bowels of hell intended to create an impeachable offense because the plotters had no other strategy to utilize. It was impossible to accuse Hon. Aiyedatiwa of financial misdeeds, marital infidelity, or simply not leading a disciplined life.
“In addition, he has a history of showing unwavering loyalty to Your Excellency, which is why he turned to fabricating charges of domestic violence. We also know that you will dismiss such absurd accusations with ease based on your encounters with your deputy and your knowledge of him.
