The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, have replied to claims that they are the world’s tenth deadliest terrorist organisation, according to Aloy Ejimakor, a counsel to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
According to Ejimakor, the Global Terror Index’s claim that IPOB was the tenth-deadliest terrorist organisation was untrue.
He clarified that the Nigerian government’s designation of IPOB as a terrorist organisation was the only reason the group was mentioned in the index report.
Ejimakor remarked in a tweet that a terrorist organisation cannot be registered like IPOB.
It is Untrue that IPOB is currently the 10th deadliest terrorist organisation in the world, according to the Global Terror Index, he said. Just the fact that IPOB had been designated a terrorist organisation in Nigeria was conveyed. Registered is IPOB. A terrorist organisation cannot be registered. You will be arrested if you attempt.
Due to the group’s involvement in 40 incidents that resulted in 57 fatalities and 16 injuries in 2022, the Global Terrorism Index has placed IPOB as the 10th worst terror organisation in the world.
