Salman Umar Hudu, 38, was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.
Hudu was taken into custody on Tuesday in a hotel for pretending to be Abdulrasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the EFCC.
According to a statement by the commission, the 38-year-old received N100,000 from someone pretending to be Bawa and addressing any issues with the anti-graft agency.
The suspect would face charges in court after providing useful information, according to the EFCC.
