Rumours that the Osun State Government had introduced a new pay scale for the state’s civil personnel were refuted by the state administration.

The state government referred to the material as incorrect and deceptive in a statement released on Monday and signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

The assertion in the statement was that the information did not come from the state administration.

The state administration urged the workforce to reject the suspected new compensation scale but gave the assurance that it will reveal policies to lessen the impact of subsidy elimination on civil servants and the general public when it was suitable.

Additionally, it claimed that those who spread news were engaging in pranks designed to unduly inflate workers’ expectations and foster discontent.

The Osun State Government’s attention has been raised to a widely shared tweet about a new pay scale for the state’s civil servants, the statement reads.

“The post is false and deceptive in that none of its contents come from the State Government, making it both false and misleading.

“Since taking office, Governor Ademola Adeleke has shown a dedication to the welfare of workers. When the time is right, he will announce steps to mitigate the impact of subsidy removal on civil servants and the general public.
