Usman Khalil, 25, was taken into custody by Jigawa State police on suspicion of pretending to be a mobile police officer.
In a statement provided to Obasanjonews24 on Wednesday, the spokesman for the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest.
The culprit, according to him, has been frightening individuals by posing as mobile police assigned to 35PMF Dutse Jigawa State.
He claims, “Before his arrest, the suspect was claimed to have gone to one Aliyu Bako shop at mechanic village in a police uniform with a revolver and bought some food items on credit and promised to pay as soon as he corrected his payroll account.
When the fictitious police officer broke his promise later, the victim reported the incident to the police.
On June 20, 2023, at around 16:40, the suspect was taken into custody.
The suspect and the evidence were given to SCID Jigawa, according to DSP Shiisu, for a covert investigation.
