Factional AA chair and secretary are given seven-day deadline to quit due to impersonation by stakeholders
Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, the faction chairman of the Action Alliance, and Suleiman AbdulRasheed, the party secretary, have been given a seven-day deadline to quit due to allegations of impersonation and forgery.
The Concerned Stakeholders of the Action Alliance, who issued the ultimatum, also threatened to eject Omoaje and AbdulRasheed if they did not resign honourably within the allotted seven days.
The group accused the factional leaders of impersonating Ifeanyi Igbokwe, the party’s candidate for the Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, at the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Abia State, among many other accusations.
The Action Alliance and everything it stands for, according to a statement released by the party’s President and Secretary, Dr. Lukman Mohammed and Alhaji Bako Jibrin, respectively.
Despite Igbokwe’s declaration that he would not be contesting the results of the election, Omoaje and AbdulRasheed allegedly submitted a petition in his name, according to the statement.
The organisation therefore labelled the factional leaders as rascals who want to damage the Action Alliance’s “hard-earned” name.
A formal criminal complaint will soon be submitted to security agencies, it further stated, but Omoaje and his cronies must immediately leave the party and stop their shady dealings.
“We have heard that two rascals have been imitating our leaders and sullying the reputation of our great party. They are not recognised as our members by us.
“These two are guilty of crimes including impersonation, forgery, and bribery, and they have brought shame and disrepute to the Action Alliance.
“The most recent featured Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwuka Igbokwe, a contender for Abia State’s Bende Federal Constituency. It is known that he lost interest after learning that a party group was in charge of the primary election.
“Adekunle Rufai Omoaje and Suleiman AbdulRasheed falsified documents to challenge the election results on his behalf, despite the fact that he has made his opinion known over time.
“We have put up with these two for a very long period, and requests from several directions have gone unanswered. By issuing this press release, we are allowing them seven days to leave the party.
“This call is different from others. In order to have these two arrested and prosecuted, we will also make a criminal complaint to the security services. We will also think about removing them from the AA with other stakeholders. Criminal activity does not gather at our celebration.
