Muhammadu Buhari, the former president of Nigeria, expressed his satisfaction when his successor, President Bola Tinubu, raised the price of petrol.
Despite Buhari’s numerous attempts to eliminate fuel subsidies, he was unsuccessful. However, during the annual dialogue of the Katsina Consultative Forum (KCF), Buhari openly shared his sentiments. He believed that by removing the fuel subsidy, the number of visitors to his residence in Daura would decrease.
To his surprise, Nigerians began pooling money to fuel their vehicles and pay homage to him, resulting in an increase in visitors.
Buhari acknowledged that he has experienced both the positive and negative aspects of Nigeria, and he expressed gratitude for being able to settle at home while receiving daily visits from people.
