Exercise Still Waters III: Lagbaja cautions participants about breaking conduct regulations

As he flags off Exercise Still Waters III in Rivers State, Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has urged soldiers of the 6 Division not to break the standards of conduct governing how they conduct their operations.

The army were also ordered by General Lagbaja to pursue and exterminate economic saboteurs.

As part of his first working tour to the 6 Division Area of Responsibility, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, stated in a statement that Lagbaja delivered the charge to troops on Friday in Port Harcourt.

Lagbaja reaffirmed that the federal government’s major priorities are infrastructure development, security, and economic recovery.

He emphasised that the nation’s oil business must be secure for there to be any real economic recovery, and that military are essential to securing the nation’s oil sector. He also commanded the troops to be obedient, disciplined, and devoted to their constitutional duties.

“Your loyalty is first to the Constitution and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he declared.

He made it clear that he wants to hear nothing but good things about the 6 Division’s soldiers over the course of Exercise Still Waters III.

According to the statement, General Lagbaja ordered significant construction projects and the vital operating platforms required to revamp amphibious operations in the Niger Delta during his visit.

According to him, the acquisition of the 10 gunboats is just the first wave of continuous measures to increase the NA’s operating capacity in the riverfront domain.

“The COAS later visited the 6 Division Step Up Headquarters at Ahoada, where he stressed the importance of inter-agency collaboration,” the statement continued.
