The September N35,000 pay awards have been disbursed to federal civil personnel by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

A few ecstatic staff members confirmed that they started getting credit alerts on Tuesday.

Rather than the two months that the federal government had promised, one of them admitted to receiving cash just for September.

“Yes, it was delivered to me. It was approximately fifteen minutes ago that I noticed the alert. Since September was mentioned in the notice, I believe it is for September, the source stated.

“Yeah, I’ve seen mine too, but we’re expecting to see another alert because the President said it would start in September, so maybe another one will come with October on it,” remarked a different federal servant.

For a period of six months, President Tinubu authorised N35,000 as a provisional pay award for all federal government employees who are paid by the Treasury.

This pay award came about as a result of a meeting between federal government representatives and the heads of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to avert the unions’ planned statewide strike intended to protest the elimination of subsidies.
