Enugu East District Senator-elect Sir Kelvin Chukwu has received congratulations from Senator Chimaroke Nnamani.
The former Enugu State governor was unsuccessful in his attempt to run for the Senate again.
Ultimately, Sir Kelvin Chukwu of the Labour Party defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.

In order to defeat Nnamani of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who received 48,701 votes, the LP candidate received 69,136 votes.
In a message of congratulations, Nnamani noted that “the people have spoken” and that the election’s results represented the preferences of the majority of voters.
In the South East zone, where people have associated with the Labour Party, the election’s outcome is in line with the current mood, he said. The trend would have been invalidated by an opposite outcome.
“I wish the senator-elect for Enugu East a good term in the higher legislative house.”
He further urged his followers to maintain their composure and accept the results of the election honestly.
With just a few days until the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25, Kelvin took the position of his brother, Oyibo Chukwu, who was killed.
