The manager of AS Roma, Jose Mourinho, has given an explanation for why his club lost 2-0 to Slavia Prague in their Europa League match on Thursday.
Roma gave a terrible performance against Slavia, as the Czech team defeated Mourinho’s team thanks to goals from Vaclav Jurecka and Lukas Masopust.
During his news conference after the game, Mourinho asserted that Roma was crushed by the hosts because the Serie A team was unable to muster any resistance against them.

The Portuguese said that he was “disappointed” with his players’ performance against Slavia, calling them “bad.”
It was all in vain. They played a lot as they did today in the first game we played against them, and we had prepared our game plan accordingly, Mourinho added.
El Shaarawy played as a wing-back with Belotti up top on the left, and the fact that [Nicola] Zalewski was unable to participate may be used as an explanation.
“But I don’t want to because we were so horrible.
It was all in vain. Few players, individually, possessed the appropriate mindset, the professional mindset I expect. Many of the players lacked the proper mindset for a serious game with objectives.
“I’m not happy. I’ve already completed my analysis with the players and will continue tomorrow, so I don’t want to discuss more.
