Chuba Akpom makes history in the Europa League as Ajax secures a victory over Jagiellonia, showcasing a standout performance in the match.
On Thursday night, Chuba Akpom netted a hat-trick in the 4-1 victory against Jagiellonia Bialystok, becoming the fourth Ajax player to score three or more goals in a European game and making history.
On the list are Nigerian-born striker who joined in 2023 (3), Mohammed Kudus; Sébastien Haller, who arrived in 2021 (4); and Luis Suárez, added to it back in 2009.
In the ninth minute, Ajax’s Akpom initiated a spectacular solo run and successfully scored the opening goal.

After an hour of play, the ex-Middlesbrough footballer seized a wayward ball from within the penalty area to secure his second goal.
Nine minutes after, he scored his hat-trick from a penalty kick.
The second leg between Ajax and Jagiellonia will take place next Thursday with Ajax as the host.
