As the Euro 2024 approaches, Manchester United great Wayne Rooney has counselled England manager Gareth Southgate to centre his team around Manchester City’s Phil Foden rather than Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.
Following a strong season for Pep Guardiola’s team, Foden was awarded the English Premier League Player of the Year.
The 24-year-old scored 27 goals and contributed 12 assists for City in 53 games across all competitions.

Rooney, who is presently the manager of Plymouth Argyle, told Channel 4 that although Jude Bellingham is wonderful, the England team needs to be built around a player like Phil Foden in the midfield.
This comes after England just lost 1-0 to Iceland in a friendly match.
