Team Nigeria’s para powerlifter, Esther Nworgu, shines on the international stage by winning a silver medal, showcasing her strength and determination.

Esther Nworgu, a para powerlifter representing Team Nigeria, secured the silver medal in Para powerlifting for up to 41kg category by lifting an impressive weight of 118kg.

The Paralympics record was broken by her twice.

With her last two attempts, Nworgu established a pair of fresh Paralympic records by hoisting 112kg and 118kg in turn.

Cui Zhe, who is Chinese, achieved a new Paralympic Games record and won the gold medal by lifting 119 kg.

The competition was close, but the Chinese had an advantage as they went after the Nigerians.

After Eniola Bolaji claimed Nigeria’s inaugural medal on Monday, Nworgu secured the country’s second at the Paralympics.

In the Women’s Singles SL3 category, she secured a bronze medal for Nigeria after defeating Kozyna Oksana from Ukraine with score of 21-9 in both rounds.
