Esosa Iyawe Cites Leadership Crisis and Court Cases for Defecting to APC

Esosa Iyawe, the House of Representatives member representing Oredo Constituency in Edo State, has provided an explanation for his decision to leave the Labour Party (LP) and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Iyawe mentioned that he switched to the APC because of the leadership turmoil and numerous legal actions involving LP leaders.
He revealed that his decision to switch from LP to APC aligned with his political interests.
Iyawe, along with three other members of the LP Rep, switched allegiance to join the ruling APC.
In a statement he signed on Thursday, Iyawe attributed his decision to defect to the LP leadership’s failure in recognizing the legitimate Caretaker Committee at both national and state levels.
He announced, “I am formally submitting my resignation as a member of the Labour Party (LP), with immediate effect.”
