In response to a shocking s3x tape scandal, Equatorial Guinea has introduced CCTV surveillance in government offices and suspended several officials. Discover the full story behind these drastic measures.

The government of Equatorial Guinea has initiated an investigation following the emergence of several explicit videos purportedly featuring high-ranking civil servant Baltasar Engonga.

These videos allegedly depict Engonga engaged in sexual activities with various women, including the spouses of notable officials within his department, leading to public outrage and demands for accountability.

In light of the scandal, the government has ordered the installation of surveillance cameras in courts and ministries to deter “indecent and illicit acts” within governmental premises.

Furthermore, officials involved in the controversy are facing suspension, as confirmed by a statement from the Equatorial Guinea Press and Information Office on Tuesday.

Vice-President Teodoro Mangue issued a strong warning, asserting that any government employee found participating in sexual activities at work would be subject to disciplinary measures, as such conduct constitutes a “flagrant violation of the code of conduct.”

The government underscored that these actions are intended to restore public confidence, following the dissemination of these videos, which officials claim have “damaged the country’s reputation” internationally.

“Among the decisions made are the suspension of employment for officials featured in the homemade adult videos circulating on social media, strict measures for those responsible for monitoring inmates who failed to perform their duties and allowed such incidents, as well as enhanced security in all judicial offices nationwide; in addition to the installation of surveillance cameras in judicial and ministerial facilities,” the statement indicated.

“The Executive has reached this decision in response to the viral sexual videos that have recently circulated on social media, which have tarnished the country’s image.

To address the misconduct exhibited by certain officials within the public and judicial administration of Equatorial Guinea, the Vice President of the Republic, alarmed by the situation, has urgently convened a meeting with the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Attorney General of the Republic, and several government members led by the Prime Minister. The objective is to formulate strategies aimed at curbing such behavior and to propose preventive measures.

The arrest of Engonga, the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency in Equatorial Guinea, has sparked significant activity on social media. He is accused of recording over 400 explicit videos involving the wives of prominent individuals in the nation.

This scandal surfaced during a fraud investigation involving the 54-year-old economist, which led to an unannounced search of his residence and office by ANIF officials. During this search, they discovered numerous CDs that unveiled his illicit activities with various married women.

Since the release of these explicit videos online, there has been a wave of reactions, with many labeling it the most significant sex scandal in the country and potentially in Africa. The footage reportedly features encounters with several high-profile figures, including his brother’s wife, his cousin, the sister of the President of Equatorial Guinea, the wife of the Director-General of Police, and approximately 20 other women from the nation.
