Aaron Ramsey, a midfielder for Wales, has revealed why he turned down a move to Manchester United for Arsenal in 2008.

Ramsey claims that he turned down a transfer to Manchester United in 2008 because staying with Arsenal seemed like “the right decision” for him.

Recall that a little over 15 years ago, both Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger personally phoned Ramsey to persuade him to join their respective teams.

In 21 games across competitions for Cardiff City, the then 17-year-old concluded the 2007–2008 season with two goals and three assists.

The 32-year-old admitted to being a lifelong Cardiff City fan to FourFourTwo, “but my dad was a Manchester United fan, and I watched them quite a bit with him. Being courted by two teams I’d followed closely as a kid was a bizarre time in my life. I had a few phone conversations with both bosses.

“When I was 17 years old, Fergie and Arsene Wenger left me voicemails! It was insane. I felt that choosing Arsenal was the proper choice. I recall seeing Kolo Toure, Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor, and William Gallas when I initially arrived for training. To stop myself from pinching.
